I woke up this morning with tie-dye on my mind. It was like those swirls of colors had mesmerized or possessed me. I am obsessed.
Mind you, before this season, there was no way you would catch me in anything that even vaguely resembled tie-dye. I was not the type to wear those psychedelic t-shirts, and I remember that time in elementary school making tie-dyed shirts in art class or something, and the revulsion (I’m not being too dramatic here) I felt while thinking the teacher didn’t actually expected me to wear that crap, did she?
However, there’s something about the current tie-dye trend that is so beyond what tie-dye has been before. Often looking more like batiks than true tie-dyes, the trend is now more refined, something more like art, as opposed to the questionable substance, fueled patterns attributed to the 60s. Thoughtful placement of dyes and interesting patterns have converted me.
This is a trend I can fully get behind. Here are some of my favorites:

Tie Dye Clothing in Denim
This striking jumpsuit from Stella McCartney is cotton denim with a relaxed fit. Multiple zippered details, from the front closure to chest pockets and thigh zip pockets, make this the perfect casual-chic choice.
This top by RtA brand also has a relaxed silhouette. A bold black linear dye pattern on a polyester background gives this a cool but provocative look.
I love the contrasting yellow and black in this lightweight viscose maxi dress by Proenza Schouler. There’s a deep V neckline with a cut out back that will definitely get you noticed.
Tie-Dye for My Workout
I can even work out in tie-dye?! This crop top and legging combination will make you the best dress jogger on the treadmill (or socializer, if you prefer). Better yet, you can take it outside because it has SPF protection.
I am definitely looking forward to adding some of these looks to my wardrobe. Summer is sure to be a fun one, fashion-wise.
