Have you lost the motivation to work out?

We all know that it’s tough to follow through with a New Year’s resolution.  In fact, 80% of people have bailed by the beginning of February.

It doesn’t help if one of your resolutions is to exercise more.  Because sometimes, the gym sucks.  And physical exertion doesn’t feel that great.

Putting your workout clothes on can motivate you to work out.

1. Put on your workout clothes.

I don’t know about you, but wearing your workout clothes all day is good motivation.  You will probably feel pretty silly wearing your workout gear and not working out.

Get motivation to hit the gym by remembering why you started this journey.

2. Remember why you started in the first place.

Did you want to lose weight?  Increase your endurance?  Get stronger?  Reminding yourself why you wanted to get fit, to begin with, can help you get off the sofa and into the gym.

If you need some tips on Losing Weight Even With Your Hectic Lifestyle. Hopefully, this will give you some ideas about finding the time for yourself.

Take a group fitness class to encourage you to work out more.

3. Take a group fitness class.

When it’s something like a Monday (like after the Super Bowl), and the motivation to workout just isn’t there, working out with others in the class can make it so much more fun.

Healthy competition can stoke the fire to keep working out.

4. Compete against the person next to you.

They don’t know it, but you’re going to kick their butt.

Challenge yourself in little ways to propel you closer to your fitness goals.

5. Give yourself a mini-challenge.

It can be as small as “I’ll run up this hill,” and see how you feel. Or if you don’t really feel like running, “I’ll run 1 mile.”  Or I’ll do 10 pushups.  You have to start somewhere!

Daily reminders can give you the inspiration to continue your work outs.

6. Write yourself encouraging notes.

Put positive quotes or encouragement to yourself on sticky notes.  You can leave them on the mirror, on the nightstand…anywhere you need a little extra motivation.

Let the haters be your motivation to reach your fitness goals.

7. Think about your haters.

They’re so sure you have given up on your working out and started back eating all the wrong foods.  Prove them wrong and use this as motivation to get that workout in instead!

Keeping track of your workouts and successes can encourage working out.

8. Keep track of your progress.

You’ll be amazed at your progress.  Like, when you first started working out, you got winded after 1/4 mile.  Now you can run 2 miles!  This will give you the boost you need to jump up and head to the gym to continue improving.

Having a good support group can inspire you to work out.

9. Workout with someone that will cheer you on.

There’s something about someone believing in you and urging you on that can help you push past your fears and do just a little more.

Final Thoughts On Finding the Inspiration To Work Out

It can be pretty hard to convince yourself to head to the gym or do your home workout.  Hopefully, these will help give you the push you need to help you reach your goal.
